With a background forged from years of providing innovative braking solutions, and using today's 'state-of-the-art' tools, Hayes Brake consistently exceeds its customer's expectations. These braking solutions are found on motorcycles, snowmobiles, mobile and stationary equipment, hydraulic wheel motors, utility vehicles, bicycles and others. Many of the standard products now available in the Hayes Brake Catalogs were developed to provide a solution to a specific braking need. From concept through production and beyond, Hayes Brake can provide the solutions your product demands.
To qualify for a Customer Specific Development Program, several criteria must be met:
- The customer to supply pertinent engineering data and a Brake Analysis and Proposal (BAP). Also, the customer is requested to complete a Quality Function Deployment (QFD) questionnaire (supplied by Hayes). This questionnaire is used to create the Goals and Deliverables document, and develop test specifications to direct the design effort.
- The customer's overall program to include a formal field test procedure, reviewed by Hayes Engineering, validating the brake system performance in the expected operating environment.
Once a product development program is approved, Hayes creates a Goals and Deliverables document. This document addresses issues important to the customer; performance, pricing, timing, etc.. The document is mutually agreed upon and signed by representatives of both Hayes and its customer. Hayes Brake uses leading edge computer aided engineering, finite element analysis and computer aided manufacturing software to design the required system. After an initial design review, prototypes are created to certify the design by Hayes and its customer. After field testing, the Product Performance Specification is approved and laboratory certification testing validates the product. This specification will be used to validate future production components. A Hayes Brake team will be present at the customer's location to support the initial system integration.
