Quality/Materials Engineer

Location:  Mequon, WI

Summary:  The selected candidate will:

·         supervise a team of inspectors and the metallurgical lab

·         support engineering staff by assisting in the selection and evaluation of materials and processes

·         direct material analysis lab work

·         lead incoming inspection of supplied parts including troubleshooting and recommending corrective action for quality issues

·         perform internal and supplier quality system audits

·         collect and analyze quality system data using statistical tools

·         work regularly with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as non-metallic materials such as elastomers and polymers

Minimum Qualifications: All candidates are required to have a Bachelors degree with an emphasis in quality or materials, and 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment working with APQP and PPAP submissions.  Must have in-depth knowledge of engineering disciplines, practices, and procedures pertaining to metals, plastics, metallic and organic coatings and familiarity with standards established by SAE, IFI, ASTM, ASM, ANSI and US Military.  Candidate must also have knowledge of ISO standards, APQP, SPC (statistical process control), and experience working with measuring instruments.
